BRECKENRIDGE, CO (Dec. 19) – Danny Davis (Detroit, MI) took top honors in the Dew Tour halfpipe competition, winning in Breckenridge. He was joined on top of the podium in the women's competition by Queralt Castellet of Spain.
Davis was the king of the pipe, finishing in first, and was followed by Iouri Podladtchikov of Switzerland in second and JJ Thomas (Golden, CO) in third.
"Danny captured the win today with a super progressive run that featured two double cork 1080s followed switch backside rodeo at the end of his run" said U.S. Snowboarding Halfpipe Head Coach Mike Jankowski. "It's great to have another U.S. rider bring the double cork to the competition scene as we head into the Mammoth Grand Prix"
Castellet led the women today with Sarah Conrad of Nova Scotia shredding her way to second and Kjersti Buass Oestgaard of Norway swiped third. U.S. Snowboarding's Kelly Marren (Hillsborough, CA) finished fourth.
Top riders from around the world battled each other and the elements to earn their place on the podium. Riders looked to gain momentum and confidence as they head into the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain, CA in January.
