COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Dec. 12) – Canada's Jordan Phillips  and Hana Beaman (Salt Lake City, UT) launched onto the top of the podium for Saturday night's Paul Mitchell Progression Session at Copper Mountain.  A total of 22 male and four female riders displayed their tricks during the Jam Session.

Phillips proved he went the biggest, rocking tricks as he rode down the course. Norway's Gjermund Braten  and Johnny Paxon (Gresham, OR) also landed some sick tricks as they soared onto the podium with Phillips.

Looking at the jump from the bottom, it seemed like it was as high as the sky. The riders didn't seem phased as they launched their bodies into the air pulling jaw dropping trick after trick.

"It's a pretty big, I was kind of intimidated," admitted Phillips. "It feels like your dropping off a two story building into a pretty long landing, which is kind of hard."

Phillips's most impressive trick was when he landed a front one on switch-back five off the drop and 180 onto switch-back one off the rail.

"I am super excited," said Phillips. "I'm in a state that's pretty blissful right now; I don’t even know what to say."

For the women, Beaman was on top after attempting a backside three, barely missing the landing. Colleen Quigley (San Clemente, CA) and Gabi Viterri (Breckenridge, CO) hit the jump and rail with momentum into second and third.

"I'm pretty stoked, I mean, I'm stoked just to come out here and ride," said Beaman. "They are super rad for inviting us. I didn’t expect to win, but it's a good feeling. It's always a good feeling to win."

The riders put on a show that had the fans on the edge of their seats as they went off the jump and then onto the rail. The competition was a fun event for both the riders and the fans.

"Everything was good," said Beaman. "Thanks to Paul Mitchell for putting on this event and inviting us - looking forward to next year."
